On September 4, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Phu Ward (Can Tho City) held the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the Ward for the 2025-2030 term. This is the first meeting of the city.
The congress was attended by Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City; Mr. Tran Van Chinh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City and leaders of the City Fatherland Front.

The report shows that in the 2020 - 2025 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Phu Ward has innovated the content and methods of operation; effectively promoted emulation movements and campaigns; strengthened social consensus, and consolidated the great national unity bloc. The "For the Poor" Fund has been mobilized with more than 4.69 billion VND, built and repaired 85 Great Solidarity houses, awarded over 23,000 Tet gifts, 1,500 scholarships and many gifts and rewards worth tens of billions of VND; at the same time, organized disaster relief, cared for policy families.

Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao suggested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Phu Ward for the new term continue to innovate its activities in the direction of being close to the people, practical and effective; promoting the role of prestigious people in the community to create consensus and effectively implement key projects and works. The Front needs to link movements and campaigns with building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, sustainable poverty reduction; economic development associated with tourism and culture; organize the "For the Poor" Peak Month, the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" Campaign and improve the quality of the Great Unity Festival.
She also emphasized the need to strengthen supervision and social criticism, promote the role of cadres, intellectuals, and prestigious people in building the Party and government; promote democracy at the grassroots level, build a self-management model and improve the quality of the Front staff.

The Congress elected the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 59 members, at the Congress of the General Meeting elected 57 members (collision 2). The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward has 6 members, at the Congress, 5 members were elected by consultation (invalid 1 - Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Ward Farmers' Association).
At the first meeting, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward democratically elected the Standing Committee and positions. Mr. Dang Van Chau holds the position of Chairman. Ms. Le Truc Xinh holds the position of Permanent Vice President and is also the Chairman of the Ward Trade Union. Ms. Lam Hong Thuy holds the position of Vice President and is also the President of the Ward Women's Union. Ms. Nguyen Ha Hai Y holds the position of Vice Chairman and is also the Secretary of the Ward Youth Union. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thinh holds the position of Vice Chairman and is also Chairman of the Ward Veterans Association.
The delegates elected to the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City include 2 delegates (1 official, 1 absent).

At the Congress, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City presented 40 scholarships to poor and near-poor students with special difficulties to study well in the ward, each worth 1 million VND.
