On September 4, Quang Binh Railway Joint Stock Company said that it had repaired the North-South railway section through Tuyen Hoa commune (Quang Tri province) damaged by landslides.
At about 11:00 a.m. the same day, after about 4 hours of interruption, the authorities completed the repair, the North-South railway line was reopened, and the trains continued to operate normally.
According to Quang Binh Railway Joint Stock Company, the unit has handled rocks from the mountain slope and adjusted the deviated rail section to ensure safety.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 6:10 a.m., 3 large rocks (angled 1.5 - 3m3) suddenly fell onto the railway at Km 458+200, near Lac Son station, Tuyen Hoa commune. The incident damaged a section of the railway, fortunately no trains passed through.
The incident caused many North-South trains through Quang Tri to temporarily stop at the nearest station. Immediately afterwards, the railway industry issued an urgent warning to ensure the safety of passengers and vehicles.
