Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a Decision on the establishment of the City's Steering Committee for Electricity Supply and Energy Use, headed by Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam - Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee.
Mr. Ha Vu Son - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Standing member of the Steering Committee - is Deputy Head of the Committee and 10 members.
Accordingly, the Steering Committee is responsible for advising the City People's Committee to organize the implementation and strictly implement the Electricity Law and the Law on Energy Efficiency and Savings; Coordinate with agencies, units, People's Committees of communes and wards in implementing rural power supply projects in Can Tho City in accordance with regulations.
At the same time, direct the People's Committees of communes, wards and competent agencies to resolve issues related to the protection of the safety of high-voltage power grids; areas of power supply and saving, prioritizing emergency cases to meet the electricity needs of businesses and people's daily life; direct departments, branches and localities to coordinate in handling violations and resolving complaints in the safety of power grid protection, power supply and practicing power saving in the city according to current law; inspect and urge compensation, support site clearance in power construction and protect the safety of power works for investors to implement projects and energize the project to put the project into use.
During its operation, the Steering Committee proposed that the City People's Committee issue policies and solutions to prevent and promptly handle violations of regulations on the safety protection of high-voltage power grids in the locality; Timely commend and reward agencies, units and enterprises that have implemented good energy-saving solutions.
