Can Tho - Can Tho received more than 117,000 USD in aid to implement a project to raise awareness and provide early intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder in the period of 2025 - 2028.

Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a decision approving the aid for the project "Auchistic spectrum disorder awareness raising and the importance of early intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder in Can Tho City, period 2025 - 2028" sponsored by Saigon Children's Charity CIO, with a total capital of more than 2.94 billion VND (about 117,768 USD).

The project will be implemented in the period of 2025 - 2028, in Can Tho City, with the main beneficiaries being children with autism spectrum disorder, parents, preschool teachers, union members, association members and officials in the health and education sectors.

The project aims to improve the professional capacity of teachers for early intervention, support parents in home care and intervention skills, raise public awareness of autism spectrum disorder, and at the same time supplement equipment and learning materials for the Early intervention room at the Can Tho City Social Work Center.

According to the plan, every year, 5 teachers with early intervention at the Can Tho City Social Work Center receive in-depth training and technical support to continuously develop their expertise; at least 30 autistic children receive free intervention; 480 parents with children with autism spectrum disorder participate in skills training; more than 3,600 cadres, teachers, union members and medical staff are trained and trained to raise awareness and skills to support autistic children. In addition, about 1,440 preschool teachers and centers providing early intervention services for autistic children are trained in using autism spectrum screening tools and applying the "Learning through Play" method in early intervention.
