In her speech at the Congress, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that throughout the history of our nation, generations of Vietnamese women have always shown patriotism, sacrifice, steadfastness, kindness, creativity and aspiration to rise up. Vietnamese women have affirmed their important role in most fields of social life. Many women have become leaders, managers, scientists, teachers, doctors, athletes, entrepreneurs, workers, typical farmers, labor heroes, and armed forces heroes.
The proportion of female National Assembly deputies is higher than the world and regional average; the proportion of female deputies of People's Councils at all levels and female Party committees has increased compared to the previous term. Many deputies show bravery, intelligence, high responsibility, innovative thinking, and actively participate in legislative work, supervision and decision-making on important issues of the country.
The National Assembly Chairwoman emphasized: Our country is entering a new stage of development with very high requirements in all aspects, setting out the requirement that women are not only a participating force but must truly become one of the important subjects in creating the future development of the country.
The 14th National Party Congress has determined: "Caring for building Vietnamese women in the new era, promoting traditions, potentials, strengths, intelligence and the spirit of mastery, the aspiration to rise up of women, actively building progressive, civilized, prosperous, and happy Vietnamese families".
Agreeing with the 3 breakthroughs and 5 key tasks set out by the Congress for the next term, the National Assembly Chairwoman emphasized 5 contents for the Congress to discuss carefully and consider for decision:
First, the Vietnam Women's Union needs to innovate more strongly, operate more effectively and practically, and quickly bring the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, the Resolution of the 11th Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress and the Women's Congresses at all levels into life. The Union needs to have solutions to improve knowledge, digital skills, professional skills, foreign language skills and lifelong learning ability for women; regularly pay attention to rural women, ethnic minority women, and vulnerable women.
Second, pay attention to supporting women to build progressive, civilized, prosperous, and happy Vietnamese families, especially in the context of rapidly changing society, the multifaceted impact of cyberspace and daily life pressures; The Association needs to strengthen education and preserve the good values of family, motherhood skills, health care, and safety skills for women and children, especially safety in the online environment. The results of the Association's activities must be measured by the satisfaction of women and the quality of life of each woman and child.
Third, the Union needs to continue to improve the quality of performing the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of women; participate in building the Party and government; be more proactive in grasping reality, participating in building laws, supervising and criticizing policies related to women, families and gender equality. Especially, it is necessary to be close, listen and understand women, ensuring that no women are abused, abused, or abandoned without the Union organization knowing to protect them. Each grassroots Union, Union officials must truly become a peaceful support for women when needed.
Fourth, build a generation of young Vietnamese women with bravery, creativity and integration. The Association needs to develop digital platforms, learning communities, especially the "Digital Literacy" movement; networks to support careers, startups, and innovation; create conditions for young women to participate more in social management and community activities, especially in the fields of science and technology. At the same time, each woman should proactively cultivate knowledge, skills, and bravery to improve herself, build family happiness, and actively participate in social life.
Fifth, continue to strongly innovate the organization and methods of operation of the Union in a professional, substantive, and strongly grassroots direction; continue to streamline the apparatus, avoid bureaucratization; strengthen coordination and intercommunication of activities in the Front system and socio-political organizations. Promote the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in activities. As General Secretary and President To Lam once stated: The Vietnam Women's Union needs to continue to innovate, be creative, and act decisively and effectively, worthy of being a reliable address for women nationwide; a solid bridge between the Party and the People; a common home of love and responsibility; a source of vibrant, humane, and effective movements.
The National Assembly Chairwoman expressed her belief that, with good traditions, patriotism, sacrifice, compassion, creativity and strong will to rise up, Vietnamese women will continue to make even greater contributions to the rapid and sustainable development of the country in the new era.
