Da Nang - The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city has just coordinated to organize the awarding of 280 million VND to support treatment for children with cancer.

On September 19, Da Nang Oncology Hospital said that the Da Nang Hometown Association has just coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Protection of Poor Patients, Suntory Pepsico Vietnam Company and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City to organize the handover of funding to support treatment for children with cancer.

Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Specialist Doctor II Tran Thanh Thuy - Director of the City Department of Health; representatives of leaders of the Oncology Hospital, the sponsoring unit, and relatives of pediatric patients.

At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 14 support scholarships to 14 children with difficult circumstances undergoing cancer treatment. Each scholarship is worth 20 million VND. The total support budget is 280 million VND.

The funding is deducted from the city's "For the Poor" Fund, mobilized through the 22nd Suntory Pepsico Vietnam Friendship Golf Tournament.

On this occasion, the sponsor also handed over 20 boxes of mineral water to serve treatment and living at the hospital.

The activity takes place during the Mid-Autumn Festival, contributing to sharing difficulties with families with children being treated for illness. The support fund helps reduce part of the burden of treatment costs, and at the same time adds motivation for sick children and families to persevere in treatment.
