3 Da Nang stores were heavily fined for environmental violations and trading in counterfeit goods

Da Nang - 3 stores in Da Nang have just been fined hundreds of millions of VND by authorities for violating the environment and trading in counterfeit goods.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued Decision No. 1788/QD-XPHC to fine business household Nguyen Thi Hong (Group 60, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District) nearly 127 million VND for the following violations:

Trading in goods of unknown origin; No on-site emission treatment works or equipment to meet environmental protection requirements according to regulations for large-scale production, business and service establishments for households and individuals with emissions;

Discharging wastewater containing normal environmental parameters into the environment exceeding technical standards on waste by 10 times or more;

additional 50% increase the fine for 4 environmental parameters exceeding technical standards by 10 times or more (Mineral oil and fat index exceeds 48.75 times, BOD5 parameters (20 degrees Celsius) exceeds 42.86 times, Amonium content parameters exceed 18.05 times, COD parameters exceed 14.81 times);

The fine increases by 40% of the fine for 1 environmental parametric exceeding technical standards by 5 to less than 10 times (Coliform index exceeding 6.6 times).

At the same time, business household Nguyen Thi Hong is required to take remedial measures within 30 days from the date of receipt of the Decision.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued Decision No. 1792/QD-UBND on penalty for a Black Label Shop business household (No. 156 Tran Phu, Hai Chau District) represented by Mr. Truong Thien Can for displaying to sell counterfeit goods.

Through reviewing the administrative violation handling records, the market management unit discovered that on September 27, 2024, Market Management Team No. 1 (Da Nang Market Management Department) had administratively sanctioned the Black Label Shop business household for the violation of displaying to sell counterfeit goods. Therefore, this business household is a case of reoffending.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has issued a decision to fine the above business household with an amount of more than 111 million VND. Forced destruction of counterfeit goods, quantity of 127 units.

Notably, also in Hai Chau District, Da Nang People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 1806/QD-UBND sanctioning Daisy Mart business household (No. 34 Le Thanh Nghi Street, Hai Chau District) by Ms. Dang Thi Thanh Nguyen is a legal representative for the act of trading smuggled goods.

The total amount of money that business household Daisy Mart was fined was 70 million VND, the violating exhibits will be confiscated and destroyed.

In early June 2025, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Chi Cuong chaired a meeting with the City's Steering Committee 389 and related units on combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, infringement of intellectual property rights, issues that are directly affecting the city's urban image and tourism environment.

According to the report of the Steering Committee 389 of Da Nang City, from May 15-30, the authorities inspected 90 cases, handled 51 violations with 54 acts related to smuggling, banned goods, trade fraud and infringement of intellectual property rights. The total amount of administrative fines is up to nearly 590 million VND.
