72 enterprises participate in stabilizing the market in Ho Chi Minh City

HCMC - On March 7, the Department of Industry and Trade of HCMC informed about the plan to implement the market stabilization program in 2025.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, up to now, 72 enterprises have registered to participate in the market stabilization program in 2025, an increase of 3 enterprises compared to 2024, of which 6 new enterprises have participated.

There are 49 enterprises participating in stabilizing the market of essential food and foodstuffs; 15 enterprises participating in stabilizing the market of school supplies; 4 enterprises participating in stabilizing the market of essential consumer goods; 8 enterprises participating in stabilizing the market of pharmaceutical products; 2 enterprises participating in accompanying, supporting rental prices and supporting the supply of materials for production to implement the program.

According to Mr. Ngo Hong Y - Head of the Trade Management Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, the group of essential foods and food is expected to include 12 groups of goods with the output of prepared goods accounting for 23-31% of the market share, especially for the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, it will account for 25-43% of the market share.

The essential consumer goods group includes 6 groups of goods with market-stabilized product output accounting for 35-50% of the consumption needs of students in the city in the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City said that the mobile sales program in collaboration with the Labor Federation to serve workers and laborers this year will be implemented more practically. This year, the Labor Federation officially participated in the program, designing it appropriately and regularly for enterprises with many workers.

"We plan to coordinate with banks to provide workers with a 2-5 million VND account to shop and pay in advance and later for market stabilization goods. This helps workers have money to cover their living expenses and buy quality goods" - Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong said.

In the first quarter of 2025, businesses will focus on boosting production to meet signed orders, aiming for new production and business goals with many expectations of improvement. The production and business activities of enterprises have grown positively, economic, social and consumer activities have become more vibrant, reflecting confidence and expectations for the growth and development of the economy.

In order to aim for a growth target of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of more than 10%, the Department of Industry and Trade will also organize events such as the Export-Export Typical Vietnamese Goods Fair in 2025, the 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Flower Festival, the Cooperation program to control goods quality in Ho Chi Minh City...
