On the afternoon of July 27, the Standing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee had a working session with Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) on the operating situation and investment plan at Cam Ranh International Airport.

According to ACV, in the first 6 months of 2026, Cam Ranh International Airport served about 4.1 million passengers, of which nearly 2.6 million were international passengers.
It is expected that for the whole year of 2026, Cam Ranh airport will serve about 8.3 million passengers, more than 15,127 tons of cargo and 45,110 commercial flights.
According to Decision No. 872 dated June 5, 2026 of the Ministry of Construction, by 2030, Cam Ranh International Airport is planned to reach a capacity of 19 million passengers and 50,000 tons of cargo per year; vision to 2050 to reach 36 million passengers and 100,000 tons of cargo per year.
Planning to use 628.41ha of land, including civil aviation land, defense land and shared area.
To meet the planning, ACV plans to invest nearly 12,000 billion VND to implement 3 key projects.
In which, the project to build the new T1 passenger terminal has a total investment of about 10,600 billion VND, with a capacity of 9 million passengers per year. When connected to the existing T1 terminal, the total operating capacity will reach 11 million passengers per year.
The project is expected to be completed and put into operation from February 2030.
In addition, ACV will invest in building a freight terminal with a capacity of 50,000 tons per year with a total capital of about 175 billion VND and expand the aircraft parking lot by 11 more locations, bringing the total number to 44 locations, with a total investment of about 1,180 billion VND.
These two projects are expected to be completed in 2028.
At the working session, ACV proposed that Khanh Hoa province support the completion of land procedures, consider exemption and reduction of land rent according to regulations.
At the same time, accelerate the work of recovering and handing over land and resolving investment procedures so that projects can be implemented on schedule.
Speaking at the working session, Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Tran Phong acknowledged and highly appreciated ACV's contributions in investing, managing and operating Cam Ranh International Airport.
Regarding ACV's recommendations, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee agreed to create favorable conditions in accordance with the law for businesses to implement investment projects and operations at Cam Ranh International Airport.
Provincial Party Secretary Tran Phong assigned the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant departments, branches, and localities to urgently review and resolve land procedures; consider exemption and reduction of land rent according to regulations.
At the same time, the Provincial Party Secretary requested ACV to focus resources and accelerate the progress of project implementation according to the plan.
