On July 25, according to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), component project 3 of Long Thanh airport has reached about 77.85% of the total value of signed contracts.
For the main construction packages, the accumulated value implemented to date reached 57,807 billion VND, equivalent to about 69.69% of the contract value.
On the construction site, an average of 7,170 workers are directly involved in construction.
Currently, the entire project is short of about 1,500 to 2,000 workers (concentrated in packages 5.10; 4.8; 7.8 and 11.5).
To ensure detailed progress, ACV said it is resolutely requesting contractors to mobilize more human resources, aiming for nearly 9,000 direct workers and an indirect team to accelerate internal work and complete dossiers.
Also according to ACV, the project is entering an important stage, to organize construction to ensure progress and quality of the project during the rainy season, ACV has requested contractors to thoroughly implement construction measures such as: establishing scientific construction progress from the beginning; establishing an effective drainage system at the project; closely monitoring weather developments and flexibly adjusting construction according to actual conditions; having contingency plans for arising situations.
Long Thanh airport project reaches level 4F according to the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), with an investment scale of 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of cargo/year.
In which, phase 1 builds 2 runways, 1 passenger terminal and synchronous auxiliary items, with a capacity of 25 million passengers/year and 1.2 million tons of cargo/year; completion time and commissioning at the end of 2026.
