The Agribank delegation included Ms. Phung Thi Binh - Deputy General Director and representatives of leaders and staff of several units at the Head Office and Dong Hai Phong Branch.
In the atmosphere of preparing to welcome the Spring of At Ty 2025, the delegation sent New Year greetings to all officers, soldiers and units under the Naval Region 1 Command, along with greetings and wishes for good health to the families of officers and soldiers - the solid rear of the marine soldiers. During the days before the Lunar New Year of the nation, soldiers still perform their duties day and night to guard and firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, maintaining a peaceful life for the people, therefore, the visiting and New Year greetings of the Agribank delegation on the occasion of the New Year are a great source of encouragement and motivation for units and soldiers to perform well their assigned political tasks, maintain strict combat readiness, and not miss any targets; At the same time, firmly grasp and well manage the sea area, promptly advise and handle all situations well, and strive to successfully complete the task of socio-economic development in an important position in terms of national defense and security in the Northeast region of the Fatherland.
During the visit and New Year greetings to officers and soldiers of Naval Region 1 Command, Agribank presented many gifts to collectives and units in Naval Region 1 on land; units in Cat Hai district such as: Station 495, Cat Ba town, Cat Hai district Military Command, Cat Ba town Border Guard Station (Hai Phong city).
At the destinations of the delegation, being welcomed with special affection by the officers and soldiers, the members of the Agribank delegation better understood the difficulties and hardships of the officers, soldiers and people living in the sea and island areas. The members of the delegation all expressed their wish that the forces and military branches always maintain their faith, hold their guns firmly, and closely join the people in maintaining the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. On the occasion of the New Year, the delegation was moved to send to all officers, soldiers and people their wishes for health, happiness and a new year full of victories.
Also on this occasion, despite unfavorable weather conditions, the delegation directly came and presented Tet gifts to the officers, soldiers, government and people of Bach Long Vi island district.
Over the past years, seriously implementing the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee, Session XI, XIII on “Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation”, the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee, Session X on “Vietnam's marine strategy to 2020”, the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee, Session XII on “Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, vision to 2045”, Agribank has always closely coordinated with the Navy to carry out propaganda on seas and islands and organize many practical and effective activities towards the seas and islands of the Fatherland. In addition to visiting and giving Tet gifts to officers and soldiers of the Navy on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the nation, Agribank has organized working delegations for officers to visit and encourage soldiers and civilians on Truong Sa archipelago and DK-I platform; supported the Navy to build a multi-purpose cultural house on Co Lin island; donated medical equipment to 04 infirmaries on Truong Sa archipelago, built 01 new CV boat; accompanying the Navy to implement the program "Greening Truong Sa" and the activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children"...
Located in the system of outpost islands - the border of the Fatherland, Bach Long Vi island and Cat Ba island are both islands holding important strategic positions in terms of national defense - security and socio-economics of the country. In particular, Bach Long Vi is one of the most offshore islands and is one of the eight major fishing grounds of the Gulf of Tonkin. Along with Bach Long Vi island, Cat Ba island holds an important position for the country, therefore the task of maintaining security and order for the "Pearl Island" Cat Ba is always a major responsibility of the police forces, soldiers and people on the island.
In September 2024, Bach Long Vi Island and Cat Ba Island were the areas heavily affected by Typhoon Yagi (Typhoon No. 3). The estimated damage to Cat Ba Island was nearly 700 billion VND. Immediately after the storm, the army and people on the island districts united, focused on overcoming the consequences, and gradually brought the island back to normal and stable life.
