On the morning of July 7, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam chaired the 28th meeting of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity (Steering Committee)
Immediately after the meeting, on the afternoon of July 7, the Central Internal Affairs Commission - the standing agency of the Steering Committee - held a Notice of the Results of the 28th meeting of the Steering Committee.
Responding to some contents related to the investment in the construction of the two projects of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission - said that at the end of 2024, the Steering Committee assigned the Government Party Committee to review the difficulties and problems and do them as quickly as possible to put the project into operation.
The Government has issued Resolution No. 34 and is currently directing ministries and branches to implement in the spirit of Resolution 34, with the aim of putting these two hospitals into operation 1 month before the deadline assigned by the Steering Committee in November 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong said that the Government Inspectorate has inspected these two projects. Within 2.5 months, the Government Inspectorate completed the tasks assigned by the Steering Committee.
"From the inspection conclusion, the Government Inspectorate has transferred the dossier with some contents related to the violation to the investigation agency according to its authority. The Investigation Police Agency (Ministry of Public Security) has initiated a case and prosecuted the defendants, now there are 5 defendants and is continuing to investigate according to the provisions of the law" - Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong said.
Informing at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Dang Van Dung - Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission - said that in the last months of 2025 and in the coming time, the Steering Committee requires the work of preventing corruption, waste and negativity to continue to be implemented more strongly, drastically and effectively, focusing on directing the completion of tasks according to the 2025 Work Program and the conclusions of the General Secretary - Head of the Steering Committee.
Including urgent completion of reviewing and clarifying the causes, having specific handling plans for each project and project, project that is behind schedule, has long backlogs, is low in efficiency, and is at risk of causing loss and waste, directing the final handling of difficulties and problems for the two Central Hospital projects; renewable energy projects; flood resolution projects in the Ho Chi Minh City area.
Focus on investigating and striving to completely handle corruption, waste and negative cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee, ensuring that by the end of the 13th term, there will basically no longer be any backlog of old cases. In particular, directing the acceleration of investigation and final handling of cases and incidents that occurred at Thuan An Group, Vietnam Cement Corporation, Nha Trang airport project, 2 investment projects to build the second facility of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.
