Entering a new development stage, An Giang province has clearly defined a key development strategy in the Political Report submitted to the 11th Party Congress, term 2025-2030. One of the breakthrough tasks is to promote the development of 5 key driving forces, creating a solid foundation for economic growth and improving people's lives.
Accordingly, 5 dynamic regions including: Rach Gia, Phu Quoc, Long Xuyen, Chau Doc and Ha Tien, were established as the main role, both promoting their own potential and closely connecting into a synchronous inter-regional system, promoting socio-economic development of the whole province.
Rach Gia is oriented to develop into a comprehensive administrative and economic center with advantages in transportation, industry and logistics. With a system of seaports and wharves connecting Phu Quoc, this place has favorable conditions to develop the marine economy in a modern and sustainable direction, focusing on industry, aquaculture and fisheries logistics services.

Phu Quoc - known as the "pearl island" of the Southwest region, is a special marine economic zone, an international tourism - trade center with free trade zones and a diverse service ecosystem. Located near major economic centers in Southeast Asia and on international shipping routes, with synchronous transport infrastructure with international airports, modern seaports and a complete road network, creating a solid foundation for comprehensive development. The rich ecosystem, beautiful beaches and primeval forests also help Phu Quoc become a leading destination for high-end resort, ecotourism and entertainment.
Long Xuyen is a dynamic synthetic economic center with the strength of processing industry and high-tech agriculture. This place forms a value chain for production - processing - consuming agricultural products associated with large raw material areas and an increasingly complete logistics system. The convenient infrastructure connecting with inland waterways, the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway and Can Tho international airport helps Long Xuyen expand economic space, strengthen connections with major centers such as Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City, and at the same time rise to become the leading economic development ship of the province.

Chau Doc holds the position of a border economic and tourism center with a dense river system, canals and unique cultural heritage. Spiritual and ecological tourism attracts millions of visitors each year. This is also an important trade gateway for Cambodia through Tinh Bien International Border Gate, promoting border trade, logistics and import and export of goods. The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway connecting Tran De Seaport will expand trade space, reduce logistics costs and shorten transportation time.
Ha Tien, with its strategic location adjacent to Cambodia and close to international shipping routes, is oriented to become an important borderical marine economic - tourism - trade center. Ha Tien is a trade gateway between the Mekong Delta and ASEAN countries, facilitating the development of border trade, logistics and international tourism. Along with the infrastructure system being completed, Ha Tien has great potential to promote regional linkages and international economic integration.
Synchronous development of 5 dynamic regions is a strategic step to help An Giang effectively exploit the potential of each locality, form a strong economic linkage network, create momentum for breakthrough, sustainable development and deep integration in the future.
