The Kremlin spoke after a speech by US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, who affirmed that Washington needed to prepare for war to ensure peace.
In his speech at a meeting with senior US military officials, Mr. Hegseth emphasized: From now on, the duy nhatous task of the Department of War is to fight. Prepare for war and prepare for victory. No one wants war, but we do it for the love of peace.
Russian Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said shortly after, Russia was also trying to strengthen its armed forces. However, he emphasized Moscow's stance of continuing to support peace and being ready to resolve issues, including the Ukrainian crisis, through diplomatic dialogue and political contacts.
At the same event, US President Donald Trump revealed that he had mobilized one or two Submarines to approach the Russian coast. Commenting on this statement, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Mr. Trump's statement was unfounded.
He advised: Its really hard to find a black cat in a darkroom, especially when there are none.
The back-and-forth reaction between Washington and Moscow shows that military tensions continue to increase, while both sides affirmed that the ultimate goal is to maintain peace.
