Interest rate up to 6.9%/year
According to Lao Dong, savings interest rates at banks currently fluctuate between 1.9-6.35%/year, depending on different deposit terms.
However, some banks still have their own "promotional" forms for customers who deposit savings, listed differently at each bank branch.
For example, the Capital Bank of Vietnam (BVBank), currently offers the highest interest rate of up to 6.5%/year for an 18-month term. Accordingly, customers who meet the conditions of a deposit balance of VND3 billion or more will enjoy this interest rate.
Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) Ha Dong branch is also currently listing the highest interest rate of up to 6.9%/year.
With online deposit, balance over 2 billion VND, SHB currently applies quite high interest rate:
24-month term interest rate is 6.6%/year.
36-month term interest rate is 6.9%/year.
With a deposit balance of less than 1 billion VND, depositors are applied the highest interest rate of 6.5%/year for a term of 36 months.
In addition to the above bank, there are currently many commercial banks offering interest rates higher than the actual interest rates listed on their homepages.
With a special interest rate, the highest in the market is 9.5%/year listed at PVcomBank. PVcomBank customers will enjoy a special interest rate of 9.5%/year when having a new deposit balance of 2,000 billion VND or more.
HDBank also listed a special interest rate of 7.7%/year for a 12-month term and 8.1%/year for a 13-month term. Applicable to savings of at least VND500 billion/savings card, not applicable to mobilization in the form of interest at the beginning of the term or periodic interest.
Dong A Bank is listing a special interest rate of 7.5%/year for customers depositing for a term of 13 months or more, with interest at the end of the term for deposits of VND 200 billion or more, for a period of 365 days/year.
MSB currently offers a special interest rate of 7.0%/year to customers with newly opened savings books or savings books opened from January 1, 2018, automatically renewed with a deposit term of 12 months, 13 months and a deposit amount of VND 500 billion or more.
