Revealing the bank leading interest rates
According to Lao Dong, after increasing interest rates in October, Bac A Bank took the lead in most terms with the highest savings interest rates in the market.
For the 1-month term, Bac A Bank leads with an interest rate of 4.15%/year. OceanBank follows with an interest rate of 4.1%/year; Eximbank, Dong A Bank, OCB, NCB, MSB currently pay interest of 3.9%/year for this term.
At the 3-month term, Bac A Bank leads with an interest rate of 4.45%/year. Followed by OceanBank with an interest rate of 4.4%/year and Eximbank with an interest rate of 4.3%/year.
At the 6-month term, Bac A Bank currently pays the highest interest rate of 5.6%/year. Followed by NCB, Dong A Bank with interest rate of 5.55%/year and interest rate of 5.4%/year listed at OceanBank.
At the 9-month term, Bac A Bank currently pays an interest rate of 5.7%/year; NCB currently pays an interest rate of 5.65%/year. Following is the interest rate of 5.55%/year listed at Dong A Bank.
For a 12-month term, Bac A Bank currently offers the highest interest rate of 6.0%/year. This is followed by an interest rate of 5.9%/year at ABBank and an interest rate of 5.8%/year at OceanBank, Dong A Bank, NCB, BVBank, SaigonBank and BaovietBank.
Interest rate up to 6.9%/year
According to Lao Dong, savings interest rates at commercial banks currently fluctuate between 1.9-6.35%/year, depending on different deposit terms.
However, some banks still have their own "promotional" forms for customers who deposit savings, listed differently at each bank branch.
For example, the Capital Branch of BVBank is currently offering the highest interest rate of up to 6.5%/year for 18-month term; 6.4%/year for 15-month term and 6.3%/year for 12-month term. Accordingly, customers who meet the condition of deposit balance of 3 billion VND or more will enjoy this interest rate.
Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) Ha Dong branch is also currently listing the highest interest rate of up to 6.9%/year.
With online deposit, balance over 2 billion VND, SHB currently applies quite high interest rate:
12-month term interest rate is 6.1%/year.
13-month term interest rate is 6.2%/year.
24-month term interest rate is 6.6%/year.
36-month term interest rate is 6.9%/year.
With a deposit balance of less than 1 billion VND, depositors are applied the highest interest rate of 6.5%/year for a term of 36 months.
In addition to the above bank, there are currently many commercial banks offering interest rates higher than the actual interest rates listed on their homepages.
