Reported at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Ninh, General Director of NSMO said that the accumulated load was estimated to the end of April 2025, the total electricity production and import of national electricity system was estimated at ~ 98.7 billion kWh. The electrical system generates situations that affect the ability to ensure electricity supply. However, electricity supply in the first 4 months is still guaranteed.

To ensure safe and continuous power supply during the April 30 - 1.5 holiday to serve entertainment activities, important political and social events of the country, and at the same time ensure stable power supply during the dry months of 2025 to meet the needs of socio-economic development and daily life of the people, NSMO has developed many different calculation scenarios.
Including considering an extreme scenario to assess the ability to ensure power supply, a favorable scenario to assess fuel demand in case of low demand, and a scenario to adjust the mobilization of Son La hydropower plant to increase flood prevention capacity, improve safety during the construction of the expanded Hoa Binh hydropower plant.
Regarding the overall power supply situation, the national power system and the three regions will ensure adequate power supply during the dry months and the whole year of 2025.
After listening to the report and proposed opinions at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien acknowledged the efforts of the units in ensuring stable and safe power supply to serve production, business and people's lives in the first months of 2025.

In the context of the whole country striving to achieve a GDP growth rate of 8%, creating a foundation for the following years to grow by 10% or more, the demand for electricity is expected to increase.
Moreover, in the coming days, many major events will take place in the country (first of all, activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification); Along with that, this year, the weather and climate situation is forecast to continue to develop abnormally, which will pose a big challenge for ensuring electricity supply.
In the spirit of absolutely ensuring safe power supply for the economy, especially during the dry months and key national holidays, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien requested the Group, National Energy Corporation and related units to strictly implement the instructions of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade on tasks and solutions to ensure adequate power supply for production, business and people's lives in all situations.
The Minister also requested all relevant units to make specific plans, assign teams to be on duty during holidays and peak hot weather to be ready to handle incidents (if any).
