On the afternoon of October 3, the Ministry of Finance launched a fundraising campaign to support people affected by storm No. 10, with the amount of money raised on the spot estimated at 1.5 billion VND.

Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Ministers, leaders of units under and directly under the Ministry of Finance, and organizations and unions representing civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Finance participated in the donation.

The amount of money donated right at the launching ceremony is estimated at about 1.5 billion VND.

Previously, storm No. 10 caused heavy damage to people and property in many provinces and cities in the Central and Northwest regions. Many areas were deeply flooded and severely eroded; people's houses and properties were washed away or severely damaged; production was stagnant; people's lives were facing many difficulties and shortages.

In that situation, promoting the tradition of solidarity, the spirit of "mutual love", "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" - the good values that have been nurtured and spread among the staff of the Finance sector, the Office of the Ministry of Finance has called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the whole sector to actively respond to the call for support and assistance for people in disaster-affected areas.

Every sharing at this time, no matter how small, is a great source of encouragement, adding determination for people in flooded areas to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

The Office of the Ministry of Finance said that it has requested units under and directly under the Ministry of Finance and mass organizations in the industry to proactively launch donations in appropriate forms; ensure practicality, efficiency, publicity, transparency and transfer to the right subjects and right purposes as soon as possible.
