On October 3, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee held a fundraising ceremony to support provinces affected by storm No. 10 to help people overcome the consequences and soon stabilize their lives.
At the program, Mr. Nguyen Khac Ha - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Khanh Hoa province - called on all cadres and civil servants in agencies and units to promote the tradition of mutual love, join hands to share with the people with practical contributions.
He emphasized that each person needs to take specific actions, while mobilizing families, relatives, and communities to donate money and goods to support localities to overcome the consequences and quickly stabilize their lives.
According to Mr. Ha, there were 4 consecutive storms in September. Of which, storm No. 9 (Ragasa) and storm No. 10 (Bualoi) have caused severe impacts in many localities. In particular, storm No. 10 left serious consequences for people and property in the Northern and North Central regions.
Preliminary statistics as of 5:00 p.m. on October 2, storm No. 10 along with floods, landslides, and thunderstorms have killed 49 people, left 16 people missing, and injured 147; collapsed 160 houses, damaged more than 154,800 houses; 1,429 schools were affected; more than 51,000 hectares of rice and crops were flooded; nearly 407,000 livestock and poultry were killed and swept away. The total economic damage is estimated at about VND 12,979 billion.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary Nghiem Xuan Thanh, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and cadres and civil servants of Party agencies directly participated in the donation, with an amount of nearly 250 million VND.
This amount will be transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province to be sent to the localities that suffered heavy damage.
Also on the morning of October 3, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee organized a donation of more than 2 billion VND to support provinces and cities affected by storm No. 10.
On the morning of October 3, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province launched a call for agencies, units, enterprises, banks, religious organizations and people of all walks of life in the area to join hands to support and provide relief to people in the provinces affected by the storm.
In the spirit of "sharing food and clothes", the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee mobilizes cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces and those who receive salaries from the State budget to contribute at least 1 day's salary; workers support at least 1 day's income.
Union members, youth union members, and households with an average or higher standard of living are encouraged to save spending to support from VND50,000 or more...
