According to the preliminary report, as of October 1, 2025, BSH Insurance has recorded 407 losses (including 23 losses in property - technology, 384 losses in motor vehicles), with a total expected compensation value of about 14 billion VND. The cases of severe damage are being reviewed and will be given priority for handling and making advance payments as soon as possible.
For the Motor Vehicle sector, the recent storms have recorded many losses, mainly due to flooding, in which the emergency factor has always been put first. The BSH appraiser quickly arrived at the scene to check the engine, take photos of the damaged details and directly advise customers on how to handle them safely, and coordinate with rescue forces to urgently move a series of vehicles out of the flooded area. They have to race against time, together with rescue units, to dismantle, record damage, and handle the power system to limit damage from spreading.
In Hanoi, as of noon on October 1, many vehicles in the An Khanh area had reported losses, but the appraisal team had not been able to reach the scene and it is expected that it will take a few days to get the vehicles out.
Mr. Le Nguyen Long - Deputy Director of the BSH Motor Vehicle Department - shared: "It is considered a special job, we always ensure on-call and shift so that customers can be present whenever they need them. During the two peak days of storm No. 10, the assessors struggled to carry the rain around the scene. All for the spirit of responsibility and commitment to accompany customers in all circumstances".
Mr. Vu Van Hoang, Deputy Head of Compensation Appraisal Department - Saigon - Hanoi Insurance Corporation (BSH) said: "Many areas in Ha Tinh and Nghe An are isolated by flood, making it extremely difficult to access the scene, in some places the group has to wait 2-3 hours to get there, even having to walk. But we just hope to be there as soon as possible to support customers. The most important thing is to help customers overcome difficulties in times of danger, both recording losses and guiding simple compensation procedures to avoid cumbersomeness".
The representative of the Dr. added: In principle, after the damage occurred, the site needs to be fully preserved for the parties to conduct an appraisal, however, in special cases such as damage after storms and floods and especially according to forecasts, there are storms waiting to continue to make landfall. We provide specific instructions so that customers can clean up and handle part of the site in advance to ensure the restoration of production and business activities as soon as possible".
This unit said that from September 29 to 10:00 a.m. on October 1, 2025, the number of calls to the hotline 1900 9696 09 of BSH Insurance increased. BSH has received more than 3,000 continuous calls from customers across the provinces and cities.
Most of the calls were to report the loss of motor vehicles, property and flooded homes. In addition, there are also many calls to request on-site instructions on how to handle emergency situations, such as needing to rescue flooded cars, or needing to know the declaration procedures when documents are wet or damaged.
Similarly, DBV Insurance Group, as of the afternoon of October 1, 2025, had recorded 226 losses, of which more than 200 cases were related to motor vehicles, mainly caused by flooding. The total compensation for motor vehicles expected to be up to 8 billion VND by October 2, 2025.
At VBI Insurance, there were temporary statistics on about 106 cases of vehicle damage and 126 cases of property damage. The total estimated damage is more than 4 billion VND.
