On October 2, the People's Committee of An Luc Long commune informed that there are currently two houses that were severely damaged and could not be re-roofed immediately after the storm that occurred on the afternoon of October 1. The total initial damage is estimated at about 52.8 million VND. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human casualties.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the local government directed the Civil Defense Command and the natural disaster prevention and search and rescue forces to urgently inspect the scene, mobilize human resources and materials to help people overcome the consequences. The support force has dismantled damaged construction items, erected temporary roofs, and cleaned up houses for affected households.
The commune government also recommends that people proactively reinforce and tie up their houses to minimize risks during the rainy and stormy season.
It is known that An Luc Long commune is currently located in the southernmost part of Tay Ninh province, formed from three communes of Duong Xuan Hoi, Long Tri and An Luc Long, formerly in Chau Thanh district, Long An province.
This tornado continues to ring the alarm about increasingly extreme weather phenomena appearing in the southern region during the transitional season.
