On April 16, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau province said that it had issued an invitation letter to participate in the first Mekong Delta region delicious rice award.
The first delicious rice contest in 2026 is scheduled to take place on April 25. The contest aims to honor high-quality rice varieties and rice products; promote production - consumption links and promote the rice brand of the Mekong Delta region.
Participants include cooperative groups, cooperative unions, farms, rice production and trading enterprises and rice breeding facilities with legal entity status in provinces and cities in the region. Each unit registers 1 product sample for the competition.
Registration time is from April 14 to the end of April 18. 2026. The Organizing Committee receives rice samples for the contest from April 20 to 5 pm on April 23. The contest is graded from 8 am on April 25, and the results are expected to be announced and awarded at 7 pm on the same day.
The venue is at the Ca Mau Provincial Cultural Center (Bac Lieu branch), No. 3 Nguyen Tat Thanh, Bac Lieu ward, Ca Mau province.
The contest has 12 prizes with a total value of hundreds of millions of VND, including 1 First Prize worth 30 million VND; 2 Second Prizes, each prize 20 million VND; 3 Third Prizes, each prize 10 million VND; 5 Consolation Prizes, each prize 3 million VND and 1 "Best Rice Story" prize worth 3 million VND.
