Exciting from urban to rural areas
The electric vehicle market - from cars to motorbikes, electric bicycles - is recording clear growth in Ca Mau province and neighboring areas. Not only popular in urban areas, this trend has spread strongly to remote areas, including Dat Mui commune - the southernmost point of the Fatherland.
According to the Nam Binh Ca Mau system - one of the car suppliers in the area - the number of customers learning about electric cars recently increased by 30-50% compared to the same period, especially at a time when gasoline prices fluctuate. The percentage of customers switching from consulting to deciding to buy also increased by about 20-30%.
Revenue from electric vehicles, including electric cars and motorbikes, recorded an average growth rate of 25-40%. This shows that consumer trends are clearly shifting, as people are increasingly interested in cost-saving and environmentally friendly vehicles.
In the Ca Mau and Bac Lieu (old) areas, electric vehicle consumption is maintained at a high level. On average, each month, electric car lines such as VinFast VF3, VF5, VF6, VF7, Limo Green, 7-seater MPV... reach about 130 vehicles. For electric motorbikes, including Honda Icon e, VinFast, Yadea brands, consumption output is about 400 vehicles/month.
Not only in the center, the electric vehicle market also spreads strongly to rural areas. This is considered a positive sign, showing that the green transportation trend is gradually approaching people in all areas.
Change consumption habits
Mr. Nguyen Van Con, residing in Dat Mui commune, said that operating costs are an important factor that makes people switch to electric vehicles. According to him, gasoline cars consume about 8-10 liters/100km in urban conditions, while electric cars only cost about 2-3 liters of gasoline/100km.
With a high frequency of travel, each month you can save from 2-4 million VND, equivalent to 25-40 million VND per year," Mr. Con shared.
Mr. Tran Van Hung, residing in Hong Dan commune, said that he decided to buy an electric motorbike to save gasoline costs. "Traveling in the commune is not far away, electric vehicles are suitable, each charge only costs a little money, so it is much more economical," Mr. Hung said.

Similarly, Mr. Tran Van Vinh, residing in Bac Lieu ward, also chose an electric motorbike to travel in the inner city. According to him, this means of transport is convenient and low-cost. "It's very convenient to travel, low cost, bringing it home for charging in the evening and continuing to use it the next day," Mr. Vinh said.
In the transportation sector, the trend of transformation is also taking place. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan, a service driver in Bac Lieu ward, has switched to using electric cars to reduce fuel costs and improve business efficiency.
In addition to the need to save costs, the electric vehicle market is also driven by preferential policies from businesses and the State. Many car manufacturers are implementing programs to support customers to switch from gasoline cars to electric vehicles with significant incentives.
On March 27, at the launch ceremony of the 4S model showroom in Ca Mau, Standing Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Lam Van Bi emphasized that investing in a modern system not only improves service quality but also helps people access advanced and environmentally friendly technology products.
In the context of fluctuating fuel costs, the trend of using electric vehicles is forecast to continue to increase, especially in localities with sufficient infrastructure.
