On May 20, information from the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh province said that the whole province currently has 94 industrial clusters with a total area of about 3,617ha.
The average occupancy rate of industrial clusters that have been put into operation reached about 72.4%, equivalent to 1,061ha.
Industrial clusters have attracted 1,462 investment projects with a total registered capital of about 26,210 billion VND.
Key production industries in industrial clusters focus on supporting industries such as: Electrical equipment, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals; and at the same time develop agricultural and food processing sectors, contributing to promoting economic restructuring towards industrialization and modernization.
The system of industrial clusters not only contributes positively to economic growth but also demonstrates clear effectiveness in creating jobs and ensuring social security.
Up to this point, industrial clusters are creating jobs for about 56,000 local workers, contributing to the effective implementation of the "no return to the countryside" policy, helping many people have stable jobs.
In particular, craft village industrial clusters in Dai Bai, Van Mon, and Dong Ky continue to play an important role in preserving and developing traditional crafts associated with environmental pollution control, gradually relocating production activities out of residential areas, and improving living conditions for people.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh province, the above results show that the industrial cluster system in the province continues to affirm its important role in promoting internal economic development, creating jobs, improving people's income and contributing to ensuring social security in the locality.
It is known that according to the approved industrial cluster development plan in Bac Ninh province, in the period 2021 - 2030, Bac Ninh is expected to plan 30 new industrial clusters with a total area of about 1,700ha; expand 6 industrial clusters with an additional area of 146ha; and at the same time remove 18 industrial clusters with an area of about 331ha from the plan, convert or remove them, and merge 3 industrial clusters into industrial parks with a total area of 147.1ha.
