On December 16, Can Tho City People's Committee reported the results of implementing the development of non-cash payment (TTKDTM) in Can Tho City in 2024.
During the year, local credit institutions opened payment transaction accounts for 2,547,786 people.
Internal payment (main payment system of credit institutions) 55,823,929 items, with the amount of 750,149 billion VND. Bilateral electronic clearing payment 47,487,153 items, with the amount of 237,635 billion VND. Payment via Internet Banking, SMS Banking, Home Banking 90,908,629 items with the total value of 855,322 billion VND. Online payment for e-commerce transactions 44,527,688 items, with the amount of 243,452 billion VND.
Results of implementing e-commerce (1.1 - 29.11) in Can Tho city through the State Bank with 7,953 items, amount of 94,805 billion VND.
In the field of social security payments, 15,414/22,751 people received pension and monthly allowance payments via ATM; 14,972/15,457 people received one-time allowances via ATM; 11,318/11,385 people received unemployment allowances via ATM.
In the customs sector, 100% of enterprises pay taxes, late payment fees, fines, fees, charges and other revenues through banks, with no cases of cash payments.

The city has piloted the 4.0 market model at 20 markets and 3 enterprises providing e-commerce services have participated. The rate of e-commerce transactions at 4.0 markets currently accounts for about 30 - 35% of the total number of buying and selling transactions.
E-commerce activities have also been deployed to 12 supermarkets, 5 shopping malls and 169 chain convenience stores. 100% of these units have implemented the acceptance of e-commerce, but the rate of e-commerce payment of customers is below 50%.
100% of the main traders, distributors and retail agents of petroleum in the area have implemented e-commerce in their buying and selling transactions. Gas trading establishments have responded to the implementation of e-commerce activities, the rate of e-commerce reaching about 95%. Can Tho City Electricity Company has signed contracts with 16 bank branches and 10 intermediary organizations to expand many convenient payment channels for customers.
Can Tho Water Supply and Sewerage Joint Stock Company has implemented cashless water bill payments through 15 banks and 8 forms of payment via e-wallets. By November 2024, 90% of customers will pay their water bills by cashless methods.
In the field of education and training, currently 31/31 units under the Department of Education and Training of the City make payments for public services through banks; 100% of affiliated units implement tuition collection and salary payment through bank accounts.
In the health sector, currently 20/20 medical examination and treatment facilities managed by the Department of Health have implemented online medical examination and treatment registration services and cashless electronic payments.
