On the morning of June 30, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee issued a press release before the Ceremony to announce the Resolution and Decision of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing party organizations, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces, communes, wards, and special zones.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, along with leaders of the Central Inspection Committee and the Ministry of Justice presented Resolutions and Decisions of the Central Government to announce Resolutions and Decisions of the Central Government for the new Khanh Hoa province.
The Standing Committees of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee presented flowers to 70 central-level cadres and the Standing Committees of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Ninh Thuan manage to retire from July 1, 2025.
The Standing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee have announced important decisions.
These are the Decision to end the activities of 15 district-level Party Committees; Decision to establish 64 new commune and ward Party Committees; Decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the commune and ward for the 2025-2030 term; Decision to appoint the Inspection Committee, Director and Deputy Director of the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee at the commune and ward level;
In addition, the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council was also announced appointing the positions of chairman, vice chairman and heads of People's Council committees at the commune and ward levels.
The merger of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces has been approved by the National Assembly and takes effect from July 1, 2025. The province after the merger is named Khanh Hoa, with the administrative center located in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa. The new province has an area of 8,555 km2, a population of 2,234,554 people and 65 commune-level administrative units.
