The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued a document on considering the proposal to sanction administrative violations in the field of dykes.
Official dispatch sent to the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Que Vo Town People's Committee said that according to the proposal of Duc Long Commune People's Committee in the submission dated June 18, 2025 on handling administrative violations of Hai Dang Bac Ninh Trading Company Limited.
After consideration, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant sectors and the People's Committee of Que Vo town to review the proposed contents of the People's Committee of Duc Long commune in the above submission; report to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and comments.
Previously, the press reported that for more than 10 years, people in Duc Long commune (Que Vo town, Bac Ninh) have had to live in the scene of dust and pollution due to the illegal operation of the coal mine belonging to Hai Dang Bac Ninh Trading Company Limited (Hai Dang Company).
Despite not having any licenses, the enterprise still brazenly gathered, grated coal and removed heat-fired ash on an area of thousands of square meters, operating day and night as a challenge to the law.
Coal is not covered, vehicles damage traffic roads, coal dust covers houses and fields. On hot days, the smell of chemicals and heat-ised ashes spread throughout the space, seriously affecting people's lives and health.
A representative of Duc Long Commune People's Committee said that Hai Dang Company used land in the dyke protection corridor to gather coal, sand, gravel, xite and arbitrarily built many works such as temporary houses, toilets, offices... without a construction permit or operating permit.
This locality has issued three notices requesting Hai Dang Company to stop operations and return to the original state. However, the enterprise was slow to comply.
