Unlocking capital sources for economic growth
Established in 1988 in the context of the Vietnamese banking system transitioning to a two-level model, VietinBank is one of the pioneering state-owned commercial banks accompanying the Doi Moi (Renovation) campaign.
From a specialized industrial and commercial bank, VietinBank has gradually developed into one of the leading financial institutions in Vietnam. Outstanding loans increased by 3.8%; mobilized capital increased by 3.5% compared to the end of 2025; asset quality continues to be tightly controlled.
Promoting the role of a key state-owned commercial bank, VietinBank continuously expands the scale of capital mobilization, credit and investment to meet the capital needs of the economy. The Bank's capital is present in many important fields such as energy, processing and manufacturing industry, transport infrastructure, telecommunications, import and export, agriculture and rural areas, and many key production and business value chains. In particular, the Bank has implemented preferential interest rate programs to support promoting production, business and consumption for people and businesses with a total amount of support/interest rate reduction for customers in the first 5 months of 2026 of about 1,700 billion VND.
In addition to expanding the scale of credit, VietinBank focuses on orienting capital flows into priority sectors according to the policy of the Government and the State Bank. In parallel with credit activities, VietinBank is constantly developing a modern financial product and service ecosystem; from payments, trade sponsorship, card services to digital banking and non-credit services, contributing to promoting non-cash payments and expanding access to financial services for people and businesses.
Firmly holding the role of a key bank in the new era
