Large-scale event series
From May 10-11, Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee organized the 2026 Investment Promotion Conference, with the theme "Dien Bien - Strategic destination for investment", expected to have the participation of more than 1,200 domestic and international delegates.
The conference is organized with a series of activities including: organizing 3 in-depth survey teams in the fields of urban infrastructure - industrial clusters - logistics; tourism - services - resorts; agriculture - animal husbandry - processing.
Besides, there is the Vietnam Private Sector Forum 2026; the groundbreaking ceremony of some key projects; and many activities such as tourism photo exhibitions, OCOP product displays, video screenings of investment potential, thematic discussions, awarding investment policy decisions, signing cooperation agreements and honoring typical businesses and investors.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the 2026 Investment Promotion Conference is a large-scale economic - foreign affairs event, marking the province's transformation in the process of realizing the Resolutions of the Central Government and the province.
Mr. Phu also hopes that, through the event, the spirit of the conference will be spread to businesses and investors at home and abroad who are interested in and accompany the event, towards bringing Dien Bien to develop green, smart, and sustainable.
A series of "super projects" calling for capital revealed
Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee also announced a list of projects calling for investment with many "super projects" with capital levels up to trillions of VND.
In the field of urban - real estate and tourism, the province is calling for capital for projects to change the face of service infrastructure such as: Nam Rom riverside eco-urban area (206 ha) with a total estimated investment of 4,200 billion VND; Ta Leng Mountain Resort Urban Area 1 and 2 (with golf course) project with a scale of 4,000 billion VND each.
Pa Khoang lake area (Muong Phang commune) is also planned into an urban, tourism, and entertainment complex with 6 component projects, each project expected to attract 1,600 billion VND.
Urban projects, Uva hot spring resort (2. 500 billion VND), Hua Pe hot spring resort (2. 500 billion VND).
Regarding industry and energy, Dien Bien advocates attracting investment in Muong Thanh Industrial Park (100 ha), Thanh Minh Industrial Park (90 ha) and a chain of industrial clusters in communes.
In particular, the capital calling list recorded "huge" scale renewable energy projects such as: Dien Bien 2 Solar Power Project (capacity of 3,000 MW), BESS electricity storage system (6,000 - 8,000 MW) and dozens of wind power, biomass power, and small hydropower projects.
In addition, the fields of high-tech agriculture and forestry, the value chain of Tuyet Shan Tua Chua tea, macadamia processing, and coffee are also prioritized for calls to solve employment and increase income for local people.
