Recently, Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Le Van Luong just signed Decision No. 671 on the establishment of a working group to review, urge, and handle obstacles in research and development of renewable energy sources proposed by businesses in the province.
According to the decision, the Head of the Task Force is Mr. Le Xuan Canh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
The two Deputy Heads are Mr. Vu Hong Son - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade and Mr. Ly Thanh Tiem - Director of the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center.
The members include: Mr. Bui Manh Thang - Deputy Director of the Department of Finance; Mr. Nguyen Minh Luong - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction; Mr. Vu Xuan Linh - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong - Deputy Director of the Department of Justice; Mr. Nguyen The Hung - Deputy Director of Dien Bien Power Company.
The working group will advise and assist the Provincial People's Committee in implementing the review, urging, and handling of obstacles in research and development of renewable energy sources proposed by investors in the province.
Previously, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Lo Van Cuong signed a decision approving Vinenergo Energy Joint Stock Company to be the investor of Dien Bien 1 Solar Power Plant project.
This large-scale project will be implemented in Dien Bien Phu ward and Na Son, Muong Lan, and Pu Nhi communes.
The plant has a designed capacity of up to 300 MW, expected to contribute about 482.411 MWh of electricity output per year.
To serve the project, the expected land use area is about 509.47 ha. Of which, the area for installing panels and synchronous stations accounts for about 320 ha.
The project also includes the construction of a new 220kV dual circuit power line system about 25.65 km long, connected from the plant to Dien Bien 220kV substation.
The project has a total investment capital of more than 5,371 billion VND. Of which, 30% of the total investment capital (equivalent to 1,611 billion VND), the remaining 70% of capital will be mobilized.
According to the committed progress, the plant will start construction no later than the fourth quarter of 2026 and officially put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2027. The operating term of the project is set at 50 years.
