Real-world records of PV show that Dien Bien People's Committee and departments and branches are accelerating the development of a plan to organize the 2026 International Trade Fair.
Dien Bien International Trade Fair 2026 is scheduled to take place from October 17-22 at 7/5 Square, Dien Bien Phu ward, with the theme "Dien Bien - Bridge for trade, reaching international level".
The fair is expected to have about 230 standard booths of more than 120 domestic and foreign units and businesses.
Notably, the fair space will have the participation of domestic businesses, cooperatives, business households; organizations, small traders, business households from northern provinces of Laos; and units from Pu'er city, Jiangcheng district, Yunnan province (China).

Typical products of Dien Bien are also introduced at a separate display area, creating more opportunities to connect local products with markets in the region.
Not only displaying goods, the fair is expected to organize activities to connect trade, cultural exchange and livestream sales on digital platforms and e-commerce.
OCOP products, typical products of Dien Bien, will be put on online sales channels to expand access to consumers.
Bringing businesses and products from Vietnam, Laos, and China to participate in a trade space is expected to create more opportunities to find partners, expand markets and promote import and export activities through border areas.
Before organizing the fair, Dien Bien is expected to organize the Trade Promotion Conference, promoting import and export in the Northern region in 2026 on September 18.
The conference is themed "Digital Transformation and Green Trade: Driving the Breakthrough of Vietnam - Laos - China Border Trade", expected to attract about 200-250 delegates, including about 50 delegates from Laos and China.
This will be a forum for management agencies, businesses and partners to exchange about market expansion opportunities, connect supply and demand, promote import and export, and exploit trade advantages between the three countries.

Along with trade promotion, Dien Bien is expected to organize the 2026 International Investment Promotion Conference between Dien Bien, Yunnan (China) and Luang Prabang (Laos) from October 17-19.
One of the notable contents is the organization of field survey teams for projects calling for investment in the province.
Businesses and investors are expected to be divided into 3 groups to survey the fields: urban infrastructure - industrial zones and clusters - logistics; tourism - services - resorts; agriculture - animal husbandry - processing.
Information from the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, instead of just introducing projects at the conference, bringing investors directly to the field helps them have conditions to assess infrastructure, land funds, current status and potential of each project before seeking cooperation opportunities.
The series of trade and investment promotion activities in September and October is expected by Dien Bien to expand connections with the Lao and Chinese markets, and at the same time create more opportunities to attract resources for potential areas of the locality.
In which, the International Trade Fair with a scale of about 230 booths and direct connection activities with businesses and investors is considered a highlight for Dien Bien to promote products, find markets and bring investment opportunities closer to partners in the region.
