On March 20, Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee held a Conference to announce the adjustment of Vinh Long Provincial Planning for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050. The event marked a new development step, creating a legal and strategic basis for sectors, localities, businesses and investors to effectively implement socio-economic projects in the coming time.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that planning adjustment is an inevitable requirement to arrange the apparatus, adjust development space, and adapt to higher-level plans.
Development must be faster but more sustainable; economic growth but not at the expense of the environment; deep integration but still retaining Vinh Long's identity. All policies and guidelines are aimed at people and businesses," Mr. Quang affirmed.
The province identifies 3 development pillars including: ecological agriculture applying high technology to improve added value; processing industry, clean industry associated with renewable energy; services, logistics, urban development and riverside economy. At the same time, focus on 3 breakthroughs: infrastructure one step ahead, transparent and favorable institutions for investment, and human resources to meet new requirements.
Mr. Quang emphasized that planning is not just a document announced but an action tool and commitment to implementation. "Immediately after the conference, departments, branches, and localities must disseminate, thoroughly grasp, review the plan and be publicly transparent for people and businesses to supervise. What is clear should be done immediately, what is not clear should continue to be completed, without delay," the Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee directed.
Regarding investment attraction orientation, Vinh Long prioritizes renewable energy, agricultural product processing industry, logistics and warehousing infrastructure, high-tech agriculture, urban development and eco-tourism. The province is committed to building an action government, accompanying businesses, turning commitments into specific results.
Speaking to direct at the conference, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee - emphasized that all levels and sectors must unify awareness in implementing economic development plans. All decisions on public investment or land management must comply with planning, ensuring synchronization and efficiency.
Vinh Long Provincial Party Secretary requested to urgently concretize the provincial plan through reviewing and developing relevant projects, and at the same time, units must proactively update the detailed sector plan to ensure consistency. Regarding resources, Mr. Lau proposed to focus on mobilizing and using capital sources effectively, prioritizing attracting investment in high value-added, environmentally friendly and digital transformation sectors.
In parallel with economic development, Vinh Long Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that planning must be linked to the goal of sustainable development, going hand in hand with environmental protection, preserving cultural identity and improving people's lives.
The Provincial Party Secretary also requested to strengthen discipline and order and promote the responsibility of heads in management. The province will promote the application of the GIS geographic information system to ensure information publicity and transparency.
Mr. Lau affirmed that with the consensus of the political system and people, Vinh Long will effectively implement planning, aiming to become a dynamic marine economic and renewable energy center, connecting smoothly with the whole country.
