The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lao Cai province has just issued a decision to administratively sanction Thanh Phat Paper Investment and Production Joint Stock Company (Thanh Phat Paper Company) for violating regulations on environmental protection.
Thanh Phat Paper Company is headquartered in Minh Quan Industrial Park, Au Lau Ward, Lao Cai Province; with Mr. Nguyen Van Dung as Director and legal representative.
According to the inspection results, this enterprise did not comply with the content of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report approved by the People's Committee of Yen Bai province (now Lao Cai) for the MB Wood chip factory project.
The above behavior was determined to violate Point d, Clause 1, Article 10 of Decree 45/2022/ND-CP of the Government on administrative sanctions in the field of environmental protection.
For the above violation, Thanh Phat Paper Company was administratively fined VND 90 million.
The enterprise is responsible for paying the fine within 10 days from the date of receipt of the decision. If the deadline is overdue, it will be forced to enforce and must pay an additional 0.05% of the fine for each late payment day.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment assigned the Department of Environment, Hydrometeorology and Climate Change to coordinate with the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board to monitor and urge compliance with the penalty decision.
