Number of new businesses increases by 46.8%
From a medical equipment production project that set foot in Da Nang High-Tech Park, after 8 years, Dentium Group of Korea continues to expand. Phase 3 of the ICT Vina medical equipment factory project is being implemented with an investment capital of 177 million USD. In total, in 3 phases, Dentium and ICT Vina invested 257 million USD in Da Nang, expected to recruit about 1,500 workers.
The above story is a noteworthy indication. Because in competition to attract investment, the most difficult thing is not only to attract investors, but to make them stay, increase capital and expand production. For Da Nang, the fact that a Korean medical technology corporation continues to choose the city for a new development phase shows that investors' confidence in infrastructure, human resources and policies is being strengthened.
Mr. Chang Hyung Jeon - Director of ICT Vina Co., Ltd. - said that the project at Da Nang High-Tech Park is implemented in 3 phases. Not stopping at production, manufacturing and putting equipment into use, Dentium also aims to develop a Hydrogen ecosystem, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and achieve energy efficiency of over 60%.
In Da Nang's investment picture, Dentium is not a single case. The city is recording a strong wave of new businesses, notably in the fields of high technology, semiconductor microchips, artificial intelligence, logistics, e-commerce and high-quality services.
According to data from the first 4 months of 2026, Da Nang issued new registration certificates for 2,340 businesses, 225 branches and representative offices, with a total registered charter capital of 10,479 billion VND. Compared to the same period in 2025, the number of newly established businesses increased by 46.8%, and total registered capital increased by 62%. The total number of businesses operating in the area currently reaches nearly 62,000 businesses.
In April 2026 alone, the city issued new registration certificates for 747 businesses, branches and representative offices, with a total charter capital of 3,670 billion VND; an increase of 24.3% in quantity and 23.8% in capital compared to the same period. Notably, by the end of April 2026, 1,306 businesses, branches and representative offices returned to operation, an increase of 5.9%, showing that market confidence is clearly recovering.
Not only increasing in quantity, the scale of investment capital in Da Nang also broke through. According to the Department of Finance, total domestic investment capital, the city attracted in the first 4 months of the year reached 70.846 billion VND, 3 times higher than the same period. Registered foreign investment capital in April 2026 reached 200.4 million USD, 3 times higher than the same period last year.
Technology investors flock to Da Nang
In the field of high technology, Da Nang currently has 26 businesses operating in the field of semiconductor microchip design, an increase of more than 3 times compared to 2024. FPT Joint Stock Company and Marvell Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. have been approved by the City People's Council, recognized as strategic partners in the field of semiconductor microchips and artificial intelligence. These are considered important pillars in the city's high-tech ecosystem.
To date, Da Nang has also certified 17 enterprises of semiconductor microchips and artificial intelligence according to Resolution No. 59/2024/NQ-HDND, as a basis for enterprises to enjoy tax exemption policies.
According to the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, the total revenue of the entire information technology, post and telecommunications, and digital technology industry of the city in 2025 is estimated to reach 43,600 billion VND, an increase of 11% compared to 2024. Software export turnover reached 185 million USD, an increase of about 12%.
If previously, technology startups often chose Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, now Da Nang is becoming a worthwhile destination to consider. Mr. Nguyen Truong An, a technology investor from Hanoi, said that he is learning about Da Nang to open a software development company. The reason is not only the image of a "livable city", but also the open working environment, convenient administrative procedures and the proactiveness of the government in dialogue with businesses.
For many businesses, Da Nang's advantage lies in the fact that the city is not overloaded like special urban areas, but still has enough conditions to develop modern businesses. A software company can set up offices in Da Nang, recruit local personnel, connect customers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Japan or Korea without being limited by geographical distance.
In the field of logistics, Mr. Tran Quang Vien, owner of a business in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the company is exploring the investment environment in Da Nang to open a branch. According to him, the demand for freight transportation in the Central region is increasing rapidly, while Da Nang has clear advantages in terms of seaports, airports, transport infrastructure and regional connectivity locations.
However, to maintain the breakthrough momentum, Da Nang still has to handle core bottlenecks. Mr. Nguyen Vinh Tran - General Director of Nam Hoi An Development Co., Ltd. - said that the city needs to prioritize site clearance and improve mechanisms and policies for large-scale projects. Businesses need a clear, synchronous process with a specific timeframe from site clearance, licensing to implementation.
Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that clearing bottlenecks in institutions, procedures and resources is a prerequisite for businesses to develop quickly, strongly and sustainably. The city must not only listen, but must also take practical actions to thoroughly handle the difficulties of businesses.
