On August 22, the People's Committee of Con Dao district said that the Power Project Management Board 3 is about to deploy the trial energization of the 100kV power line supplying electricity from the national grid for Con Dao special area.
The expected power supply time is from 5:00 p.m. on August 22, some areas such as: HNC4 cable connection tunnel; underground cable section on the Northwest route; section on the forest patrol road; section on Ho Van Mich and Huynh Thuc Khang streets; section to the 110kV transformer station of Con Dao will bring electricity with a power supply of 110kV.
At this time, the People's Committee of Con Dao district strictly prohibits acts of violating the safety of the power grid in the above areas. At the same time, the Power Project Management Board 3 is requested to implement safety measures according to regulations during the trial power supply process.
Con Dao is a locality with a strategic position in terms of national defense, security and island sovereignty, and is also a famous tourist destination, but the power system previously relied mainly on diesel with limited capacity, not meeting demand.
The national grid power supply project for Con Dao district has a total investment of VND4,923 billion, expected to be completed and energized in 2025. The scale includes a 103.7km 110kV line, from Soc Trang to Con Dao; jointly expanding the 220kV Vinh Chau transformer station (Soc Trang) and building the 110/22kV GIS transformer station in Con Dao.
After completion, the project will supply power to Con Dao with a total capacity of about 29MW in 2026, 55MW in 2030 and 90MW by 2035.
