The Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant Project is invested by the Electricity Corporation - TKV, implemented in Na Duong town and San Vien commune, Loc Binh district.
The project has a total investment of over VND4,000 billion with a capacity of 110 MW including 1 unit. It is expected that when put into operation around 2026, Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant will supply about 750 million kWh to the national grid.
Once in stable operation, it is estimated that this factory will contribute more than 300 billion VND to the local budget annually.
The project is implemented with the goal of utilizing the low-quality, high-sulfur coal resources of the Na Duong coal mine for power generation, with the total land area used by the factory being more than 11 hectares.
At the end of November, at the project site, according to the reporter's records, machinery and workers are being mobilized to carry out the project. The construction site is bustling with vehicles coming and going.
Basically, the project foundation has been shaped. Currently, the contractor is continuing to implement the next items.
Informing Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the leader of the Electricity Corporation - TKV - the project investor said that the Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant Project is on the list of 1/6 coal-fired thermal power plants under construction in the Power Plan VIII.
Regarding project progress, the unit representative said that as of November 2024, the project has completed compensation, site clearance for the main factory, mine clearance, site leveling and construction of foundations for construction items.
Up to now, pile construction for chimney and boiler items has been completed, pile construction for main machine room item is underway,....
The investor is focusing resources to implement the project to ensure progress according to plan.
"After the Na Duong II project is completed and put into operation and the coal mine reaches a capacity of 1.2 million tons/year, it will attract about 900 more workers. Of which, the coal mine will attract 750 workers and the Na Duong II power plant will attract 150 workers.
Every year, it will provide electricity output to ensure stable power supply for Lang Son, Cao Bang provinces and the Northeast region, contributing to ensuring National Energy Security" - said the leader of Electricity Corporation - TKV.
Previously, on April 5, 2024, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) started construction of Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant items.
With this project, Lang Son province leaders affirmed that this is one of the key projects, having important significance in promoting the province's economy and society.
The provincial leaders also pledged to stand side by side, accompany and create the best conditions for the investor to smoothly implement the project and put it into operation according to the set goals and schedule.
