According to the plan, on January 20, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway rest stop at Km 205 through Ham Tri commune, Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province will temporarily put into operation the access road, toilets, and temporary parking lot.
On the afternoon of January 20, functional units including Mr. Bui Duy Anh, Head of Road Management Office IV.1 (under Road Management Area IV), representatives of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6, Department 6, Traffic Police Department, representatives of Project Management Board 7 (Ministry of Transport) and the construction unit held a meeting at the command office of the construction site.
After many opinions were discussed, at 7:30 p.m. the same day, the meeting ended and agreed not to put into temporary operation the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway rest stop at Km205.
Sharing after the meeting, the representative of Project Management Board 7 said that because the plan to ensure traffic safety for the temporary operation of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway rest stop has not been approved, it is likely that on January 23, the procedures will be completed to put the temporary operation into operation.
Accordingly, Road Management Area IV must wait for the authorization of the Vietnam Road Administration to approve the plan to ensure traffic safety for the temporary operation of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway rest stop.
On the afternoon of January 20, signs indicating "Temporary Rest Stop" and speed limit signs were erected near the Km205 rest stop. However, these signs were still covered with black tape because the rest stop was not yet in operation. The entrance to the road leading from the highway to the rest stop was also barricaded to prevent vehicles from entering.
Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway is planned with 2 rest stops at Km205+092 through Ham Thuan Bac district and at Km144+560 through Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province. The area of each station is 10ha, including the left and right sides of the route.
Currently, the site clearance for the Rest Stop at Km144+560 is still facing many difficulties and complications and is unlikely to meet the requirements for site handover as prescribed. The backup plan is to adjust the proposed location of the Rest Stop at Km144+560 to Km147+500, which has also been surveyed and studied.
Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway is 100.8km long, the entire route passes through Binh Thuan province and will be put into operation, exploiting the main route from May 19, 2023, and inaugurated on June 18, 2023.
