Retail gas price
The domestic retail gas market on April 27 continued to maintain a stable state after previous adjustments, with sideways developments in most areas, while the price difference between localities is still significant.
In the North, the price level did not record new fluctuations.
In Hanoi, the price of a 12kg gas cylinder remains at 598.104 VND, while a 48kg cylinder remains unchanged at 2,464,992. Similarly, Hai Phong continues to "fix" the price with a 12kg cylinder at 596.160 VND and a 48kg cylinder at 2,462,400 VND, showing that the market is in a stage of accumulation with a narrow fluctuation range.
The Central region also did not have significant fluctuations. In Da Nang, the price of a 12kg cylinder remained stable at 560,000 VND, while a 48kg cylinder maintained at 2,179,000 VND. After previous downward adjustments, the market here is gradually rebalancing.
In the South, the stable trend continues to dominate major cities. In Ho Chi Minh City, the price of a 12kg cylinder remains at 592,000 VND and a 48kg cylinder is 2,364,000 VND. Meanwhile, Can Tho continues to be the region with the lowest price level in the country, with a 12kg cylinder costing only about 550,000 VND, creating a significant gap compared to major consumption centers.
In general, the domestic gas market is moving sideways but clearly differentiated by region. In the context that no new factors from world energy prices have appeared, the price level is likely to continue to maintain a stable state in the short term, with the main difference coming from transportation costs and the specific distribution system in each locality.
Brand gas prices
Retail gas prices by brand on April 27 continued to maintain a stable state, with no new fluctuations recorded compared to the most recent trading sessions, in the context that the market has not yet seen adjustment factors from input costs.
Specifically, Petrolimex is listing in Hanoi at 598.104 VND for 12kg cylinders and 2,464.992 VND for 48kg cylinders (industrial type). This price level remains unchanged compared to April 24, showing the trend of maintaining stable prices of key enterprises during the market sideways period.
In the high price group, Saigon Petro continued to maintain the level of 654,500 VND/12kg cylinder and 2,455,000 VND/45kg cylinder. Meanwhile, Pacific Petro maintained the level of 650,000 VND/12kg cylinder and 2,408,000 VND/45kg cylinder, unchanged compared to the previous session, showing that the price level is in a short-term balanced state.
For PV GAS, gas prices continue to be stable but clearly differentiated by region. In Hanoi, a 12kg cylinder is listed at 610.200 VND and a 45kg cylinder is 2,288.250 VND - significantly lower than some other brands. Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the price is higher at 640.081 VND/12kg cylinder and 2,400.259 VND/45kg cylinder, reflecting the difference in transportation costs and the characteristics of the Southern market.
In general, although the price level between brands remains unchanged, the difference between distribution systems and consumption areas continues to be maintained at a significant level. In this context, tracking prices by brand and area will help consumers and business households be more proactive in choosing sources of supply, thereby optimizing living costs.
