Gas prices today by region
Stepping into May 4, the gas market recorded a clear differentiation between regions, with the highlight being the sharp decline in the industrial gas segment in the North.
In Hanoi, the price of 12kg domestic gas cylinders continued to remain stable at 598,104 VND. Meanwhile, 48kg cylinders decreased sharply by 72,576 VND, down to 2,392.416 VND.
Similarly, in Hai Phong, the price of a 12kg tank remained at 596.160 VND, while a 48kg tank decreased by 33,696 VND, currently listed at 2,428,704 VND.
Contrary to the above trend, the Central region recorded a clear increase. In Da Nang, the price of a 12kg cylinder increased by 21,000 VND, reaching 587,000 VND. A 48kg cylinder also increased sharply by 84,000 VND, reaching 2,263,000 VND compared to the previous adjustment period.
In the South, the price level continues to be stable. In Ho Chi Minh City, the price of 12kg gas cylinders remains unchanged at 592,000 VND and 48kg cylinders are 2,364,000 VND.
Meanwhile, Can Tho is still the locality with the lowest price in the country, with a 12kg cylinder priced at about 550,000 VND and a 48kg cylinder at 2,200,000 VND, unchanged compared to the previous period.
In general, the market is showing clear differentiation between regions, in which the North decreases in the industrial segment, the Central region increases again, and the South maintains a sideways trend.
Notably, Petrolimex gas prices in Hanoi for 12kg cylinders still maintained at 598.104 VND, unchanged, contributing to maintaining the price level in the first months of May.

Compared to the adjustment period at the end of April, this price level has not changed, reflecting the sideways trend of the civil gas segment in the first days of the month.
Similarly, the Saigon Petro brand still maintains the retail price at 654,500 VND/12kg cylinder and 2,455,000 VND/45kg cylinder, with no new adjustments recorded.
For Pacific Petro, gas prices recorded an increase in this adjustment period. Specifically, a 12kg cylinder increased by 27,000 VND, reaching 670,000 VND; a 45kg cylinder increased by 101,000 VND, reaching 2,509,000 VND.
With PV GAS, price movements have differentiation by region. In Hanoi, the price of a 12kg cylinder remains at 610,200 VND and a 45kg cylinder is 2,288,250 VND. Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the price of a 12kg cylinder increased by 27,000 VND to 66,781 VND, and a 45kg cylinder increased by 101,250 VND to 2,501,509 VND.
In general, the brand-based gas market is showing a clear trend of differentiation, when some businesses maintain stable prices, while other units adjust to increase according to input costs. Monitoring prices by brand and region helps consumers be more proactive in choosing and optimizing costs.
