Gia Lai discovers thousands of frozen pigs of unknown origin

Gia Lai - slaughter facility, packaging dairy pigs and pigs for filming, while there is no document proving their origin.

On August 8, the Market Management Department of Gia Lai province said that the unit had just coordinated with functional forces to inspect a pig slaughter and processing facility in Hoai An commune, and discovered a large quantity of frozen pig products of unknown origin.

Previously, through reconnaissance and grasping the situation, the Market Management force and the Police determined that the business household Le Van H (residing in Gia Chieu 1 village) had large-scale pig slaughter and trading activities.

On the afternoon of August 7, Market Management Team No. 1 coordinated with the Economic Police Department, Hoai An Commune Police and Livestock - Veterinary Station Region 1 to conduct an inspection.

Initially, access was difficult because the owner of the facility did not cooperate. At 5:30 p.m., the working group was able to enter and work with Ms. T (Mr. H.'s wife, representative of the facility).

The inspection showed that the facility was slaughtering and packaging dairy pigs; 4 frozen warehouses containing large quantities of dairy pigs and pigs for filming and packaging in plastic bags.

The working group requested to present legal documents and prove the origin of pigs imported for slaughter. Ms. T said that the pigs were purchased from many places to be exported to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang... but by 24h on the same day, they had not yet been able to provide the required documents.

Due to the large quantity of goods, the authorities continued to count, classify and request additional records to verify and handle according to regulations.
