On the morning of August 7, in An Nhon ward, the Gia Lai Market Management force discovered a facility slaughtering pigs with signs of African swine fever infection.

On the morning of August 7, Market Management Team No. 4 coordinated with An Nhon Ward Police, specialized departments of An Nhon Ward People's Committee and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station Region 3 (Gia Lai province) to conduct an inspection at the house of Ms. Nguyen Thi H. (born in 1983, in Thuan Duc residential group, An Nhon ward).

At the time of inspection, the working group discovered about 220 pigs on the truck with license plate 50H-208.56, with a total weight of about 4.2 tons. Some of them showed signs of suspected infection with bleeding scars on the skin in locations such as the ears and abdomen, some of them had died.

Immediately afterwards, the Market Management Agency coordinated with the veterinary team to take blood samples of the above pigs for rapid testing, the result was positive for African swine fever.

The working group has drawn up a record of the incident, worked with related people, consolidated records to handle administrative violations and prepared conditions to destroy all of the above pigs according to regulations.
