Ms. Nguyen Thi Sam (Dong Anh, Hanoi) and her husband and son arrived at Go! Thang Long supermarket (Hanoi) at around 9am to shop for essential items for the Lunar New Year. Ms. Sam spent more than 3 hours to be able to choose all the items she wanted. Her shopping cart contained many essential items such as: clothes, milk, candy, food, etc.
“The shopping atmosphere is bustling and crowded. Especially in the candy area, people have to queue up to weigh their items,” Ms. Sam commented.
Ms. Sam said that her family brought their two young children along, to both shop and have fun. Her destination was the supermarket, because the goods were diverse, concentrated in one area, convenient for shopping.
“My family plans to spend the whole day shopping and eating. This is also a way for the children to experience the atmosphere of the upcoming Lunar New Year,” said Ms. Sam.
Mr. Linh Quang Hung (Hanoi) felt overwhelmed by the crowdedness and bustle at supermarkets in the days leading up to Lunar New Year 2025.
Normally, parking is easy, but today it is so crowded that parking and getting the truck to carry goods takes longer and is more difficult than usual. The staff continuously puts things on the shelves to serve customers.
Regarding prices, Mr. Hung commented that there was stability. Particularly for fruits, prices increased slightly compared to a week ago.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper on January 25, at GO! Thang Long supermarket (Cau Giay district, Hanoi), the number of customers coming here to shop gradually increased at noon.
Items such as candies, jams, frozen foods, fruits, etc. are still popular products among many people. The recorded prices are diverse, suitable for many customer segments.
“At the end of the year, supermarkets often offer a series of discount programs. Although it is a bit crowded, if you are willing to queue, you will be able to buy the products you want at reasonable prices,” said Ms. Do Phuong Thao (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi).
