World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices reversed to increase after a sharp decrease last week. At 07:08 (Vietnam time), WTI oil price was at 78.71 USD/barrel, up 0.53 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.68%. WTI oil price closed the previous trading session at 78.18 USD/barrel, and opened today's session at 78.55 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 84.26 USD/barrel, up 2.045 USD/barrel, equivalent to 2.48%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 82.21 USD/barrel, and opened today's session at 83.94 USD/barrel.
World gasoline prices simultaneously increased in the first morning session of the week, amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continuing to increase concerns about the risk of disruption to global energy supplies.
According to Xinhua News Agency, in a statement posted on social network X on August 9 (local time), Houthi spokesman Yahya Sarea said that drones (UAVs) of this force attacked Saudi Aramco's oil refinery in the city of Jazan, southwest Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Sarea said that the attack was in response to activities that Houthi accused of being Saudi Arabian UAVs intruding into the airspace of Saada and Hajjah provinces of Yemen.
The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Energy then announced that Saudi Aramco's industrial security forces had extinguished a fire that broke out in the early morning at a facility of a refinery in Jazan. The incident did not cause casualties.
The above developments occurred in the context of escalating tensions between Houthi and Saudi Arabia. Previously, on July 20, Houthi announced the imposition of a maritime ban on ships linked to Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea.
Meanwhile, Iran and Oman have agreed on a route for ships to pass through the strait between the two countries. However, the possibility of the US approving the related terms remains open.

Domestic gasoline and oil price forecast for the next period
According to a representative of a gasoline and oil business, it is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, retail gasoline and oil prices may decrease.
In which:
- E10 gasoline reduced by about 1,400 VND/liter
- E5 RON 92 - II gasoline reduced by about 1,500 VND/liter;
- Diesel oil decreased by about 1,800 VND/liter.
