World oil price today
World oil prices today decreased simultaneously. At 9:38 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at 70.65 USD/barrel, down 0.06 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.08%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 70.71 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 70.40 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 74.69 USD/barrel, down 0.05 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.07%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 74.74 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 74.46 USD/barrel.
This development shows that global crude oil prices continued to decline in the first session of the week.
According to analysts, the market is affected by information about the possibility of reaching a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. This raises concerns that if sanctions against Russia are lifted, global energy supply will increase, putting downward pressure on crude oil prices.
In addition, US President Donald Trump recently directed trade and economic officials to study " get-for-get" tariffs on countries that apply tariffs on US goods. This move could impact the global energy and trade markets.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On February 17, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of February 13, 2025. Accordingly, E5 RON 92 gasoline price increased by 156 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline increased by 146 VND/liter, diesel increased by 19 VND/liter, kerosene increased by 59 VND/liter, mazut increased by 425 VND/kg.

Tu Luc Petroleum: Discount on Diesel 0.05S-II: 1,350 VND/liter; Diesel 0.001S-V: 1,300; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, gasoline prices may adjust in opposite directions in the direction of increasing gasoline prices and decreasing oil prices.
Of which, gasoline price is forecast to increase by about 100-150 VND/liter; oil price decreased slightly by about 10 VND/liter.
