World oil price today
World oil prices suddenly reversed and increased after hitting a bottom in the past 5 years. At the end of yesterday's trading session, WTI and Brent oil prices increased by 1.2% and 1.3%, respectively.
By this morning's session, both oil products continued to recover.
At 11:00 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil price was at 56.23 USD/barrel, up 0.42 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.75%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 55.81 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 56.79 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 60.08 USD/barrel, up 0.40 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.67%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 69.68 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 60.60 USD/barrel.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On December 18, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 are as follows:
The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance from 3:00 p.m. on December 11.
Accordingly, gasoline prices decreased by VND 207-378/liter; oil prices decreased by VND 43-252/liter. Specifically, E5RON92 gasoline price decreased by 207 VND/liter, RON95-III gasoline decreased by 378 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 226 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 252 VND/liter and mazut decreased by 43 VND/kg.

The discount levels of gasoline products today, December 18, at some domestic gasoline trading enterprises are as follows:

+ Petec warehouse, Dinh Vu: Diesel 0.05S - II: 1,550 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,450 VND/liter.
+ Hai Linh warehouse, Hai Phong: Diesel 0.05S - II: 1,550 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,450 VND/liter.
+ Bac Ninh warehouse: Diesel 0.05S - II: 1,400 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter.
- Tu Luc Petroleum Joint Stock Company 1:
+ Diesel 0.05S - II: 1,450 VND/liter;
+ Diesel 0.001S-V: 800 VND/liter
+ RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter;
+ E5 gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter.
- MIPEC Petro Petroleum Trading Company Limited (applicable to the Northern region):
+ RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,200 VND/liter.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, retail prices of gasoline may decrease.
Of which, the price of RON 95 - III gasoline is forecast to decrease by about 460 VND/liter; E5 RON 92 - II gasoline decreases by about 370 VND/liter; Diesel oil decreases by about 670 VND/liter.
