World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices today increased sharply. At 7:54 am (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil price was at 88.25 USD/barrel, up 5.66 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 6.85%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 82.59 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 88.15 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price was at 95.97 USD/barrel, up 5.59 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 6.18%. Brent oil price closed the previous trading session at 90.38 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 97.43 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, oil prices rose sharply again as disagreements in negotiations between the US and Iran increased.
The increase came after Iran reversed its plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, in the context of the US refusing to lift the blockade of its ports, reducing expectations of de-escalating tensions.
Although the progress towards an agreement had positive signs last weekend, instability quickly returned, even as President Donald Trump said US negotiators would visit Pakistan on Monday to continue dialogue.
