World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices recorded a sharp weekly decrease. At the end of a trading week, WTI crude oil was at 112.06 USD/barrel last weekend, down to 96.57 USD/barrel this weekend. Overall last week, WTI oil decreased by 15.49 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 13.7% compared to the previous week.
Brent oil was at 109.3 USD/barrel last weekend, down to 95.20 USD/barrel this weekend. Overall last week, Brent oil decreased by 14.1 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 13% compared to the previous week.
This is the largest weekly decrease since 2022. According to analysts, oil prices plummeted amid market expectations of diplomatic progress between the US and Iran.
However, geopolitical tensions remain as the attacks have not ended, and oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz continue to be severely restricted. Ship traffic through this area is still below 10% of normal, as Iran requires ships to move within its territorial waters.
Analysts believe that for oil prices to fall, the cessation of attacks should be accompanied by an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, major consumer countries, especially in Asia, are increasing stockpiling or cutting demand due to supply disruptions.
Also according to the assessment, the supply shock from the conflict between the US - Israel and Iran may push the global oil market into a state of shortage this year, reversing the previous forecast of oversupply.

On April 12, retail gasoline and oil prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in region 1 and region 2 are as follows:
The above domestic retail gasoline and oil prices are adjusted by the inter-Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 3:30 PM on April 9, 2026.
Accordingly, the price of E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 2,393 VND/liter; RON95 gasoline decreased by 2,993 VND/liter; diesel oil 0.05S decreased by 9,872 VND/liter; mazut oil decreased by 1,658 VND/kg.
