World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices continue to fluctuate very strongly. At the end of yesterday's trading session, WTI crude oil price was at 101.94 USD/barrel, down 3.13 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 2.98%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 905.07 USD/barrel and opened the session at 105.32 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price was at 108.17 USD/barrel, down 5.84 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 5.12%. Brent oil price closed the previous trading session at 110.40 USD/barrel and opened at 111.34 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, oil prices plummeted after new signals showed that tensions between Iran and the US could cool down.
On Friday, Iran said it had forwarded its latest negotiation proposal to the US through Pakistan since Thursday, opening up the possibility of breaking the deadlock in efforts to find a solution to end the conflict.
By the end of Friday's trading session, the oil market gradually shifted to a more cautious state as investors began to accept the scenario of a "fragile ceasefire" between the US and Iran. An analyst said that oil price movements are still mainly revolving around the prospect of conflict ending or not; however, until the market closed, the situation was still not really clear.
