World oil prices today
World oil prices fell across the board on December 27 (Vietnam time). At 10:19 a.m., WTI crude oil was at $69.58 per barrel, down $0.04 per barrel, or 0.06%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at $69.62 per barrel and opened today's session at $69.67 per barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $72.81 a barrel, down $0.04 a barrel, or 0.05 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous trading session at $72.85 a barrel and opened today's session at $72.86 a barrel.
Thus, after several sessions of increasing and maintaining a stable trend, crude oil prices suddenly turned to decrease. At the end of yesterday's trading session (December 26), WTI and Brent crude oil decreased by 0.68% and 0.43%, respectively.
Oil prices have been hit hard by the dollar, which has continued to rise after hitting a key level last week, analysts said. A stronger dollar makes oil more expensive for holders of other currencies.
The outlook for the oil market next year is being negatively impacted as supply from countries outside the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies, known as OPEC+, is increasing, while demand is slowing, mainly in China.
