Continuing to realize its commitment to accompany Vietnam's green transformation policy, Grab marks a new step in promoting the completion of the common charging station infrastructure nationwide. Through investment and cooperation with a number of potential charging station operators, Grab aims to expand the common charging station infrastructure for all vehicles, including pure electric cars, electric hybrid cars and electric motorbikes.
It is expected that the total number of charging ports for cars and motorbikes put into operation through Grab's investment will be more than 6,000 charging ports by the beginning of 2028. According to the plan, nearly half of these will be allocated in Hanoi City. This is part of the commitment to promote green transportation development stated in the Memorandum of Cooperation between Hanoi City and Grab Vietnam.
Signed at the end of June 2026, this cooperation agreement focuses on the fields of green transport development, digitalization to promote tourism promotion and development, and promoting digital transformation, applying science and technology. The focus in the field of green transport development cooperation is Grab's cooperation with its partners with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction.
Hanoi is implementing investment projects to support the expansion of shared electric vehicle charging station infrastructure, suitable to the needs and practical conditions of the city. In addition, cooperation projects will focus on developing and expanding the implementation of interconnection solutions for shared electric charging stations in Hanoi City, allowing drivers to search, charge and pay charging fees on the Grab Driver application.
Mr. Ma Tuan Trong, CEO of Grab Vietnam, said: "We believe that a sustainable charging station infrastructure that effectively supports the transition to electric vehicles needs to ensure flexibility, wide coverage and high connectivity. With the support and facilitation of departments and agencies in Vietnam through important public-private partnerships signed recently, Grab is actively promoting this prospect with partners in the electric vehicle ecosystem. We invest strongly in units operating shared charging stations, ensuring that the expansion of the charging station system must meet the needs of both motorbikes and cars, thereby encouraging more and more people to switch to electric vehicles.
One of the first suppliers to receive investment from Grab to expand the charging station network in Vietnam is Eboost. As one of the domestic enterprises actively operating in the electric vehicle ecosystem, Eboost owns experience in developing flexible charging solutions for both electric motorbikes and electric cars.
Thanks to that, Eboost is and will be an important companion with Grab in the journey of building more than 6,000 charging ports nationwide, contributing to a significant change in the appearance of Vietnam's charging station infrastructure in the near future.
In parallel with investing in some charging station operating units to solve the problem of coverage of the shared charging station system, Grab also focuses on improving the connectivity of charging station infrastructure and user experience.

In April 2026, Grab launched the Electric Vehicle Utility feature. This is a product integrating charging station systems developed by different operating units for GrabCar driver partners to search for charging stations, charge and pay - all seamlessly on just one Grab Driver application.
Currently, the platform in the form of the Electric Vehicle Utility feature has connected to more than 400 charging ports from many reputable providers such as Eboost, Charge+, EV One, ChargeLink. Notably, this feature is being positively received by driver partners. For every 10 Grab driver partners, more than 7 people have experienced the feature and returned to continue using it within 7 days (*)
We will strengthen the connection of more charging station operating units to expand the platform, better meeting the electric vehicle charging needs of car driver partners, before studying expansion to electric motorbike driver partners," Mr. Ma Tuan Trong added.
